For Non-Profits

Having served as president of a 75-member board (no, that’s not a typo) for six years, I am aware of the challenges that you face.  The changing environment has radically affected the non-profit sector.  However, much of what applies to a for-profit organization applies to you as well.

In order to ensure that your organization continues its mission well into the future, you and your board need to be thinking strategically.  Are you challenged by reduced funding or a shortage of volunteers?   Do you have focus around your mission and are you making progress?

What was the last time you discussed mission, vision and values and are they a driving force for the organization?  You’re on this board because you believe in what they do, make sure it is well-positioned and prepared for the future.
