Intention-First Leadership is a 12-month program designed to give you the skills and perspective to become a confident, inspiring leader in every area of life.
Over 52 weeks, this engaging course guides you through a life-changing transformation, helping you unlock your true potential and lead with impact. Great leadership starts with perspective—shift yours and become the leader others want to follow.
Great leaders require an extensive variety of skills, insights and tools. But the topics we cover are not the kinds that are understood and integrated in a single session – in fact, many take years of practice to truly master.
Instead of teaching a concept and then leaving you on your own, we’ve designed IFL with a variety of learning experiences (Learn it!), opportunities and the time to deepen the learning and begin applying it (Apply it!) while you still have access to feedback and coaching (Refine it!).
Each module starts with a learning session where we Introduce concepts and tools.
Workshops and life provide opportunities for using the information.
Coaching sessions provide you with insights and new approaches as you prepare for and debrief situations.
12 Learning Sessions...
Plus bonus sessions.
12 Workshops to apply and
deepen the learning.
12 Live calls to discuss issues and ask questions.
Downloadable workbook to reinforce the
learning and provide practical exercises.
Access to like-minded peers for support
and sharing.
Begin the journey by understanding more about yourself and how who you are impacts your power and effectiveness as a leader so you can envision the kind of impact you want to have.
In this foundational module, we’ll dive into our perceptions of what leadership is, some common myths around leadership and what it means to be a great leader, challenging traditional thinking and creating new perspective and mindsets that will serve you in all areas of your life.
Great leadership requires a demanding set of skills. We’re going to explore 16 competencies, understanding why they are important to leadership and assessing our current level of mastery so you can target development to those areas that will have the biggest impact on your performance.
Learn how your communication style impacts your decision making, interactions, relationships, job choice and so on, so you can communicate more effectively in all areas of your life.
Understand what motivates you and how your values impact your interactions and decision making so you can be a more balanced, unbiased decision maker.
In large part, the impact you have on others, as well as the quality of your life, depends on your ability to master your emotions. Our emotions can have a huge impact on our behavior and our performance. We’ll look at how emotions work and learn to manage them so they don’t rule you – but are ruled by you
We’ll put together everything we’ve covered in Part 1, understanding how the pieces interact and influence each other, creating a picture of the impact we currently have so we can use our strengths and mitigate any challenges.
Now that we’ve done the foundational work, you’re ready to take on more advanced and complex topics.
Understand how crucial trust, integrity and accountability are to success in a leadership position and learn a model that will boost your ability to keep your word – and help others do the same.
Explore time management, from both a strategic and tactical level, understanding what it really is so you can instantly increase your effectiveness while creating a system that works for you.
While Strategic Thinking is considered a crucial and somewhat complex skill for leaders, it is one that many people aren’t born with and rarely get to practice. We’re going to learn a framework that assists us in looking at problems from multiple perspectives, increasing the likelihood of a well-rounded analysis (and decision-making process when tackling complex issues; )
In leadership, as in life, your ability to handle difficult conversations will determine your level of effectiveness. Learn a new approach and framework that will enable you to navigate difficult conversations successfully.
Amazingly, very few executives really understand how their organization makes and keeps money. This non-financial dive into financials will ensure that you have the knowledge you need to ask the right questions and make good decisions.
We’ll re-assess the 16 competencies to see how far we’ve all come and to set ourselves up for continued transformation and development.

The Learning sessions are scheduled for 2 hours and the workshops and Q&A/Coaching calls are generally 60 – 90 minutes.
Of course – the more the merrier! Different sessions may have different levels of interaction but you can always ask questions at the Q&A/Coaching calls or post them in the Community.
Yes! All sessions will be recorded and posted in the portal.
While each of the modules stands on its own, IFL is designed to build on each other so start times vary throughout the year. Reach out to find out when the next program begins.
You’ll have full access to the program for two years (one full year of additional access after the program ends) and access to the Graduate’s community for as long as you’d like.
